Volleyball P.E Test Results

So today before we did any playing in P.E we were told to do a test about Volley.

So what I've learned about volley is that it's super complex when you get into it, using strategies
like spiking and covering ground fast when defending to get the upper hand

Another thing i have learnt is that most of the time if you are in the back line it's best to be good at catching. because when the opposition spikes you and perhaps someone else is ready to catch it.

I think the reason i got an 8/12 was because i don't really do much in volley. my defending nature makes it so that i can see what goes on and where people are supposed to go. although sometimes something could have been easily avoidable if someone was there.

Migration (9APAR SOS)

In term 3 for my social studies class we learned about different kinds of migration and why it's such a popular topic. unlike some of our other topics in class this one was by far the hardest.

What i learned: I learned quite a bit about the early Maori migrants. i spent my first 8 years of primary in a Maori immersion unit but i don't think we payed much attention to the early Maori's whom arrived. probably because it's more of a high school topic but hey i should've learned it, right? well to name specifically what i learned. i learned that in pre-European times, Maori tribal warfare was common. Maori warriors were strong and fearless, able to skillfully yield a variety of traditional weapons, including the spear-like taiaha and club-like mere. Today, these weapons may be seen in Maori ceremonies, such as the wero (challenge). To protect themselves from being attacked by other iwi, Maori would construct pa (fortified village). Built in strategic locations, pa were cleverly constructed with a series of stockades and trenches protecting the inhabitants from intruders. Today, many historic pa sites can be found throughout the country.

What i could do differently: Well for starters i could try and do a bit of research and studying at home. although i'm not too big of a fan for that sorta thing. i could also try and deepen my questions. of course it's a bit of a challenge to come up with questions in the first place but i do understand i'll have to step up my game next time something like this comes around.

What i would like to learn: Meh. as long as it doesn't involve previous topics and stuff that i have to really research on. but perhaps we could maybe do something along the lines of our own cultural history/background. for example since i'm Maori and Dutch i'd have to do research on those two cultures. types of food that come from those specific cultures. Events, etc etc.

Anyways i really enjoyed this term. it went by fast and it was rather difficult but i pulled through in the end. so yeah. Byeee
